2026 Model Year
Can-Am's flagship performance side-by-side, built around a 240-hp turbocharged triple and a true 7-speed dual-clutch transmission — engineered for high-speed desert running, dunes, and now rock-crawling with the X rc package.
Shop Maverick R For SaleEvery Maverick R shares the same heart: Can-Am's Rotax 999T, a 999cc turbocharged triple-cylinder engine with an integrated intercooler and a high-performance air filter, producing 240 hp — among the highest factory output in the sport SxS class. Instead of a CVT belt drive, the Maverick R uses a genuine 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with High and Extra Low range, giving it more direct, connected power delivery than a typical belt-driven competitor.

Same 240-hp platform across every trim — the differences come down to suspension tuning, tires, seating, and terrain focus.
The base two-seat platform with the full 240-hp DCT drivetrain and no race-specific add-ons — a strong starting point for owners who plan to build out suspension, wheels, or armor over time.
Adds factory-installed upgrades over the base R for improved durability and trail-readiness out of the gate, without stepping up to full race-level pricing.
Can-Am's rock-crawling package — same 999T engine, but with an extra-low first gear, a Rock drive mode, larger 35-in. tires, and a factory JL Audio system for slower, technical terrain.
The four-seat version of the platform on a stretched wheelbase, keeping the same 240-hp engine, Smart-Lok differential, and suspension architecture as the two-seat R.
